“The Body Benefits from Movement and the Mind Benefits from Stillness”
Led by Susie (BWY Teacher) and collaborator Dr Jane Clark (former Psychiatrist, yoga enthusiast and Bronte buff)
Based in the historic Bronte School Rooms in Haworth we explore yoga, literature, meditation, walking, Bronte inspired self-inquiry and journalling, with a focus on the mind/body connection
Saturday 12 September 2026 9.30am - 2pm
9.30 – 10am Coffee and Introduction. Yoga Stretches
10 – 10.45 am Walking with the Brontes including Walking Meditation and some yoga poses (outside)
10.45 – 12 pm YOGA Session including relaxation to finish “Who’s Driving Your Chariot?”
12-12.30m Lunch and discussion
12.30-1.15 pm Interactive Contemplative Inquiry
1.15 – 1.45 pm Gentle YOGA Session with a focus on mind/body connection

Releasing emotions through yoga and the body is one of my key focuses and I'm delighted to be working with Simge Vurtak, a ceramic artist and arts facilitator who uses clay to explore themes like care, belonging and human emotion. I've attended one of her reflective clay workshops and its remarkably easy, therapeutic and illuminating, No artistic flair or previous clay modelling experience required - just feel your way
What to expect
2.15 – 2.30 pm Introduction
2.30 -3.30pm Gentle Heart Based Yoga with focus on releasing emotions (you may not even be aware you are holding onto some of them but your body is!)
3.30-5.30 pm Exploring feeling and releasing emotion with clay modelling

Immerse yourself into total relaxation.
We start with releasing tension from the body with gentle yoga moves coming into a Yoga Nidra (Yoga Sleep) Relaxation. A short walking meditation encourages the blood flow before settling down into Savasana to experience a beautiful restorative Gong Bath to completely bliss out.
